Claire Fitz-Gerald

Policy Coordinator

Claire joined the CCCHFA in November 2011 to bring her expertise to the policy team.  Claire earned a BS in biology from Trinity College and studied abroad at The School for Field Studies’ Center for Marine Resources Studies, where she pursued a longstanding interest in marine ecosystems.   She gained important project management skills managing a Harvard stem cell laboratory.  She also got her feet wet offshore while holding a position as a New England commercial fisheries observer riding gillnet, bottom trawl and pair trawl boats out of Gloucester, MA.  This experience inspired her deep and abiding interest in fisheries management issues and eventually led her to pursue a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University.  She brings her on-the-water experience, academic training, and eagerness to learn to the Hook.
