Eric’s family moved to the Cape in 1968, and he’s been here ever since. He started fishing in college but didn’t become a full-time fisherman until after graduate school – he has a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Bates College and a Master’s degree in Engineering from University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He currently fishes on FV Tenacious II and is a member of the Hook Sector. He is also one of the few tuna fishermen left who uses the traditional harpoon. Eric joined the board more than five years ago, with the hope that he could work effectively to improve his and other hook fishermen’s situations.
